Are you planning to update your KYC documents or recently submitted them but they did not go through? Here are a few things you should remember to ensure a successful submission.
Please ensure that you submit both a recent colour photograph and a self-attested copy of any one of the following documents
If submitting the scanned photograph together with your KYC document, make sure the total file size does not exceed 2 MB.
If you are planning to submit or have submitted your Aadhaar Card as KYC proof, which contains a verifiable 12-digit identification number, make sure to conceal/blacken out the first 8 digits of those 12 digits for legal/security purposes. For example, if your Aadhaar number is 987654321234, only the last 4 digits, that is ‘1234’ should be visible during submission as illustrated below:
First 8 digits have been blackened/hidden
You can also download a masked Aadhar by following the below steps:
Step 1: Visit ‘UIDAI Website’ and login using your Aadhar number and OTP.
Step 2: Click on Download Aadhar option from the list of options.
Step 3: Select the option to download “Masked Aadhar” and click on Download.
Step 4: Take a screenshot of this masked Aadhar to submit as an identity/address proof.
Any document that you submit for the purpose of KYC is required as both an ID and Address Proof. Please make sure that the Name, Date of Birth and Address on your KYC document is the same as your details and current address updated with the bank. Otherwise, your KYC submission will not be successful. In case you want to update your address with the bank, you can learn how to change your address by clicking here.
For a successful KYC update, please make sure that you submit both a self-attested copy of your valid KYC document and a recent colour photograph. If either is missing, your submission will not be successful.
When updating using Citibank Online, after uploading your KYC document, please select ‘KYC Photograph Submission’ from Submit Document menu on left hand panel and upload your photograph. When updating using Citi Mobile app, after uploading your KYC document, please select ‘KYC Photograph Submission’ from the Document Type menu dropdown and upload your photograph. Alternatively you may scan the photograph together as a single file along with your KYC document (total file size should not exceed 2 MB).
If you have any add-on holders for your card or banking account with Citi, please ensure that you are also updating the KYC documents for those add-on holders. Else, the KYC submission will be considered incomplete.
If there are multiple pages to the KYC document that you are submitting, please make sure that you scan each of those pages for submission. These should be collated as a single scanned document for upload. If it is a single card (for example, your Driving License or Aadhaar Card), please scan both the front and back pages before submission.
Please ensure that you submit your documents in an acceptable format (PDF/TIF) and that your documents are not password protected. The total file size should not exceed 2 MB.
