What is Citi
Mobile
Citi Mobile offers banking solutions on your mobile phone with features like fund transfers, bill payments, etc. exclusively to Citibank Suvidha/Branch Banking and Credit Card members. Know More
Citi Mobile is a mobile banking solution that allows you to
access your account on Citibank Online using a mobile device. It is a convenient
menu driven application, where you can view account related information,
transfer funds, pay bills and much more.
Citi Mobile is a java application that you have to download on
your mobile phone. Using a GPRS Internet connection, you can then access the
services of Citibank Online using your existing IPIN. Hence, this is different
from the existing SMS based mobile services like CitiAlert and CitiAlert on
Demand.

Currently Citibank Suvidha/Branch Banking, Credit Cardmembers can
use Citi Mobile. Please ensure you have:
- Java enabled handset with an active GPRS connection
- An active IPIN (Internet Password) which you use on Citibank
Online
- Registered your mobile number with Citibank

GPRS stands for General Packet Radio Service. It offers
high-speed data services on GSM networks. GPRS lets you browse Internet, access
E-mail and connect to various other data services on your mobile
phone.
You can contact your telecom service provider and request for
registration and activation of GPRS for your mobile number.
- Please refer to your phone manual or manufacturer's website to
verify if your handset is a Java enabled one
- You can view the list of Citi Mobile compatible handsets by clicking here
- In case you do not know your handset model, please check the
phone manual provided with the same. The handset model/number may be printed
beneath the battery inside the handset
- Some corporate BlackBerry phones may not allow installation of
3rd party applications
In order to download Citi Mobile on your handset, you must have a
registered mobile number with Citibank. You can register your mobile number with
the bank in one of many ways:
- Login to Citibank Online with your existing IPIN and update
your number
- Call CitiPhone and use your TPIN before you talk to a
CitiPhone Officer and update your number
Once your mobile number is registered with Citibank, you can
request for Citi Mobile.
An active IPIN is necessary to login to your account using Citi
Mobile. In case you do not have an active IPIN, click here

Citi Mobile is available to you FREE of cost. However, please
bear in mind that standard GPRS download/access rates will be applicable as per

Please check whether MBANK and the last four digits of your Account/ Card are entered correctly.
Eg. If your Card number is 5081 XXXX XXXX 3241 then you message:
MBANK 3241. Make sure to leave a space between MBANK and the last 4 digits of your card number.

If you can visit web sites and download applications on your phone then you have GPRS activated on your phone. If you do not have GPRS activated on your phone then contact your service provider to activate GPRS on your phone

Citi Mobile is a secure application, downloading or access to Citi Mobile may be slow/ intermittent on some GPRS plans. You may need to check with your telecom service provider about other GPRS plans if repeated attempts to access Citi Mobile fail on your existing plan*.
This may be due to congestion in your service provider’s GPRS network. Please try again after some time.
CitiMobile should be in the applications, games or downloads folder on your mobile phone. Please refer to the Application Location section for your device in Citi Mobile Settings Guide by clicking on the above link.

The Citi Mobile application was unable to connect to the Citi Mobile system, either due to a weak mobile phone signal or irregular GPRS connectivity. Please try again after some time.
The Citi Mobile application was unable to establish a secure connection to the Citi Mobile system. Please verify if the date on your mobile phone is the same as the current date.
This error occurs due to insufficient physical memory on your device to run the Citi Mobile application. Please close the CitiMobile application and free some space on your mobile phone and try again.
The current version of CitiMobile does not support alternative orientation modes. Please use CitiMobile in the previous orientation mode.
This might be due to a change in your GPRS settings. Please refer to the above FAQs or to the Citi Mobile Settings Guide by clicking on the above link. You may also try downloading the CitiMobile application again.
When prompted to enter your phone number, please enter the same phone number you used to download the CitiMobile application and try again.

- You can also request for Citi Mobile from your Citibank Online
account. Login at http://www.online.citibank.co.in/
with your card number and password, click on the Banking/Credit Card top panel
and then click on "Register for Citi Mobile" on the left navigation panel
- You will receive an SMS from the bank with the download URL

- Click on the link in the message
- A WAP page will prompt you to enter your mobile number. Enter
it and click on 'Continue'
- You will have to accept the Citi Mobile 'End User License
Agreement' before downloading the application
- The message 'Application Untrusted, Continue?' will appear, as
this is a 3rd party software application for your phone... Choose 'Yes' and
continue
- You will be prompted to choose Phone Memory or Mobile Memory
for installing the application. Choose as per your choice and click 'OK'
- This will install the application automatically and the Citi
Mobile icon will appear in the 'Applications/Games' folder (depending on your
phone model)

Please check your GPRS connection or contact your telecom service
provider for the same. In case you still face difficulty in connecting to the
downloaded URL, kindly delete the message and request again for Citi
Mobile.
The actual download time depends on the speed of GPRS
connectivity offered by your mobile operator. However, typically, you should be
able to download Citi Mobile in less than a minute's time.
This is a handset specific message, which will be seen when any
3rd party application is downloaded onto your phone. Select 'Yes' and continue
downloading Citi Mobile. Citi Mobile is a safe and tested application that you
can use on your mobile phone.
The downloaded applications are stored in a particular folder of
the handset, specific to each device. Typically it should reside either in the
Applications or Games folder of your phone.
You will need to re-download the application on your handset.
Please follow the download process and continue banking on Citi
Mobile.
Login / Usage
This section contains information on how to login, how to access Citi Mobile in case of change in your handset or phone number. It also contains information on transaction limits and roaming. Know More
You cannot register new payees on your Citi Mobile. However once
you register your new payees on Citibank Online, you are all set to make
payments to them through Citi Mobile.
Any transaction request placed on your Citi Mobile will take the
identical amount of time as it would on Citibank Online.
The products that you are looking for may not be linked to the
account you have logged in from. Please link your accounts to the Banking/Credit
Card account to access them on Citi Mobile.
Currently Citi Mobile allows you to do certain transactions only
for Suvidha/Banking, Credit Cardmembers only.
Click on the Citi Mobile icon in your mobile phone's
'Application' folder. Type in your 16-digit Debit / Credit Card number and your
existing IPIN (Internet Password) to login to Citi Mobile.
At any stage, while browsing through Citi Mobile you can logout
by clicking on the 'Options' menu button at the bottom left of the Citi Mobile
screen and selecting 'Logout'. 'Thank you for using Citi Mobile. See you soon!'
will be displayed on the screen to indicate that you have been safely logged out
of Citi Mobile.
You can simply reconnect to Citi Mobile and verify your
transaction history to check if the transaction has been
executed.
On most handsets, you can answer the call or read the SMS while
Citi Mobile continues to run in the background. After you have finished your
call, you can resume banking on Citi Mobile. For certain handsets however, you
may need to re-open the application and login again.
Yes, as long as you have GPRS activated on your mobile number,
subject to availability of the network, you can access Citi Mobile anywhere in
the country. Please keep in mind that you might be charged special roaming rates
for using GPRS.
You will have to re-download Citi Mobile on your new handset.
Follow the set of download instructions and login to Citi
Mobile.
You can still access your account using Citi Mobile on your
phone. However if in case, you need to re-download Citi Mobile on a new phone
device, you will need to register your new mobile number with Citibank before
downloading the same.
The portfolio of services offered on Citi Mobile remains
identical across all handsets. However, the appearance may differ slightly based
on the mobile phone and its display interface.
As per RBI defined guidelines, you can execute:
- Payments (Bill payments, Card payments) up to Rs. 10,000 in a
single day
- Funds Transfers (account-to-account, NEFT, ordering of demand
draft) up to Rs. 5,000 in a single day

Citi Mobile offers you the same unparalleled level of security as
Citibank Online. Your information is 128-bit SSL encrypted. Only you can access
your account, by using your Citibank Card number and your confidential IPIN. We
are committed to keeping your information absolutely confidential and
safe.
No information is stored on your mobile phone or SIM card memory.
So in case of a lost/stolen handset, no account information will be
compromised.
If you lose your phone, please call CitiPhone immediately and
register your complaint so we can block usage of your IPIN. However, please note
that when your IPIN is blocked, you will also not be able to login to Citibank
Online. We recommend that you request for a new IPIN to use both Citibank Online
and Citi Mobile.
Similar to Citibank Online, all Card numbers or sensitive
information is masked so as to ensure security against shoulder surfing or leak
of any information through direct observation techniques.
Citi Mobile uses the highest level of security i.e., 128-bit SSL,
which is the same level of security as that of your PC browser. Some handsets do
not have this capability and are, therefore, not supported.
Yes, do not reveal your 16-digit Debit or Credit Card number, or
your IPIN to anyone. Do not store any of these details on your mobile
phone.
