Accrual of Rewards for Bill Payments & Standing Instructions placed on Citibank Online to pay Utility bills:

    Minimum amount of Bill must be Rs.200 and points will be awarded only for the first 10 transactions of the calendar month. Multiple payments in respect of a single bill will not be considered for the purposes of receiving Reward Points for bill payments made under the offer. For instance, if you were to make multiple payments in respect of a single bill, irrespective of number of times you make payment, you will be entitled to Reward Points only once for that bill.

    Each reward point will be worth Rs.1 and you can redeem reward points for cash credit to your Bank account. Note: You will need a minimum of 250 reward points for redemption.

You may register for the Bill Payment facility either by logging on to Citibank or the Citi Mobile app. You can select the Utility Bill Payments option in the “Bill Pay & Recharge” menu in the navigation panel on the left. We have various categories of billers like Electricity, Mobile, Telephone, Mutual Funds, Gas, Water etc. You can choose "Confirm & Pay" and you will be required to input the bill details to register for the Bill Pay facility. The bill details submitted by you will be sent to your biller for validation. As the process of setting up Bill Pay can take some time depending on the biller's reply, we suggest you pay your interim bills directly to the biller. Once a confirmation is received from your biller on successful registration, you will be notified via SMS & Email alerts. Post this, your bill will be processed by the Bank every time the biller presents the bill and you authorize the same for payment. Please note: You will continue to receive your bill which you normally get from your biller even after registering for the Bill Pay service with the Bank.

Yes, you can set up a standing instruction (SI) through “Confirm & Pay” on your bank account or credit card to pay your bills. Once the setup is complete, Citibank will send the bill details entered by you to your biller.

You can de-register a standing instruction (SI) on Citibank Online. This will ensure no further bills are processed for the biller. However if you have already made a payment using one-time payment option on Citibank Online or the Citi Mobile app, you will have to get in touch with the biller directly to check if the biller supports cancellation of payment.

You will get an SMS & Email alert to your registered mobile number & email id once payment is processed. Please ensure your mobile number & email id is updated with us.

No. Citibank does not charge any fees for offering Bill Pay service.

In most cases, the funds should reflect in your Billers account within 2 working days (excluding Saturdays & Sundays). In case of Government billers & Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), the process may take 3-4 working days. Some insurance billers insist that premium is paid at least 5 days before due date. To ensure there is no disruption in service from the biller's side, please ensure bills are paid at least 5 working days before due date.

On Citibank Online or the Citi Mobile app, select the Utility Bill Payments option in the "Bill Pay & Recharge" menu in the navigation panel on the left. You can select the category and choose from a list of available billers for that category. You can either set up a standing instruction (SI) through the “Confirm & Pay” registration option or make a one-time payment. In case of a recurring instruction, the biller will be added once the details submitted by you are confirmed by the biller. For one-time payments, the biller will be added once you select the option to remember the biller for future at the time of making the payments.

This can be done using the Utility Bill Payments option in the “Bill Pay & Recharge” menu in the navigation panel on the left either on Citibank Online or the Citi Mobile app. You can remove the biller by selecting the de-registration link.

You have the flexibility of making Bill Payment even for 1 month. Please login to Citibank Online or the Citi Mobile app to check the list of billers available. If the biller you want to make a payment to supports Pay Now payment towards the bill, you can use this option. Please note: There are some billers who insist that the customer register their bill details first so that they can validate before accepting a payment from customer. Such bills cannot be paid through one-time payment mode.

If you register for the bill payment facility today, Citibank will forward your registration details to the biller for validation. On receipt of a confirmation from the biller, you will receive an SMS/Email on the status of your registration from Citibank. As the process of setting up Bill Pay can take some time depending on the biller's reply. In case your bill payment is due next week, for your convenience, we suggest you pay your interim bills directly to the biller.

Registration process depends upon the type of biller you register for. Once you register for the bill payment facility, we shall forward your registration details to the biller for validation. On receipt of a confirmation from the biller, we would send you an SMS / E-mail and keep you updated for the registration confirmation. In the meantime, we request you to make the payments manually.

You may register for the "Confirm & Pay" bill payment facility, where we send you an email on receipt of your bill details from the biller. You can log on to Citibank Online or the Citi Mobile app using your Citibank Credit or Debit card to make the payment. In case we do not receive any instructions from your end, the payment would not be processed.

You can log on to Citibank Online or the Citi Mobile app for bill de-registration. This can be done using the Utility Bill Payments option in the “Bill Pay & Recharge” menu in the navigation panel on the left.

The bill payment gets transferred to your utility account in 2-3 working days. However since your account has already been debited, you may get a confirmation from the Utility service provider, if you give them Citibank's transaction reference number.
