The most convenient and economical way to transfer funds across countries is with Citibank Global Transfers. Send funds from your Citibank accounts to your family or friends' Citibank accounts in other countries instantly.
Citibank India can receive up to Rs.30 Lakh per transaction per day and can send up to Rs.3 Lakh per day. However, Citibank in your home country may have daily, weekly limits on how much you can send per transaction.
Used when you plan to send large amounts and need funds for use in India immediately after they are credited to your account.
Citibank India does not charge any fees for incoming wires. However, your local bank may charge a fee for this transaction. It normally takes 2-3 business days for the funds to be credited to your account for International Wires.
Automated Clearing House (ACH)
ACH facility is exclusive for customers who reside in the United States and have a US Bank Checking Account. Transfer up to $30,000 to your Rupee Checking Account, using this mode.
You will need to first register before you initiate an ACH transfer. Citibank India does not charge any fees for incoming ACH Transactions. However, your local bank may charge a fee for this transaction. It normally takes 4-5 business days for the funds to be credited to your account for ACH Transactions.
Foreign Currency Draft
You can also send money overseas using a Foreign Currency draft.
You can issue a Foreign Currency draft only from an NRE account. It normally takes 2 business days to issue a Foreign Currency draft.
