You can transfer funds in Indian Rupees from your Rupee Checking Account to any another bank account in India. You can chose to do online transfers either through the National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) system or the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system.

Within Citibank Network: Citibank India facilitates transfer of fund to any account registered within Citibank in India

Demand Draft: If you would like to send money to friends or family or would like to make a payment, you can order for a Demand Draft online to be delivered to any beneficiary at over 700 locations in India, from your Citibank Rupee Checking Account. The beneficiary will receive the Draft normally within five business days.

You may see Screen 1 or screen 2, depending upon whether or not you have a linked deposit to your Citibank NRI account. Please refer either screen1 or screen 2 as per the screen appearing on your respective system

Step 1

Log In to Citibank Online → Banking → Transfer funds → Click Transfer to third party account → Add payee

Screen 2

Log In to Citibank Online → Banking → Transfer funds → Click To other Bank Account → Add Payee. Next you will be directed to another screen to choose Transfer Type. Select NEFT

Step 2

Select → Outside Citibank Network → NEFT→ Enter fund transfer details in the screen that appears. Payee Name should be as per beneficiary's bank record

Enter New payee details → Submit.

NOTE :

  • In a 24 hour period(working day), you will be able to add a maximum of 6 payees across all your accounts
  • For a new Payee under the NEFT system, there is a limit of Rs.50,000 for the first Business Day (excluding holidays)
  • When you add a payee, the information on timelines regarding transferring funds within regular limits for a new payee will be displayed on the "Payee addition confirmation screen"
  • With NEFT transfers, beneficiaries will typically receive funds within 1-2 business days.

From here, you can again proceed in two ways:

a) If you have the IFSC Code for the beneficiary bank, click on Yes radio button
Enter IFSC Code text box appears. Enter the IFSC Code of the beneficiary bank and click on Get Bank Details → Enter beneficiary & account details

b) If you don't have the IFSC Code for the beneficiary bank, No→Enter Bank Name → City → Branch Location→ IFSC is auto filled Enter beneficiary & account details

Step 3

Re-confirm Payee details & Select checkbox to receive One Time Password → Click Confirm

Step 4

Once you receive OTP on your registered email id & mobile number → Select Authorize Payee now

Step 5

Enter 6- digit OTP → Click Authorize Payee Now

Congratulations you have successfully added a Payee for NEFT fund transfer!!

    • If you don't have the IFSC Code for the beneficiary bank, No → Enter Bank Name → City → Branch Location → IFSC is auto filled

Step 3

Select the checkbox to receive OTP → Click Confirm

Step 4

Re-verify details, on receiving OTP on registered Email ID & mobile number → Select Authorize Payee Now

Step 5

Enter the 6-digit OTP & click Authorize Payee Now

You have successfully added a New RTGS Payee to your Registered Payee List.

Select → Within Citibank World Wide → To any account within Citibank India.Enter new Payee details & click Submit

Read and accept Terms & Conditions to receive One Time Password ->Click Confirm

Re-verify Payee details & Select Authorize Payee Now on receiving OTP on registered Email Id & mobile number.Next Enter the OTP in the screen that appears to complete the transaction.

The beneficiary will receive the Draft normally within five business days. However, we strongly recommend using NEFT/RTGS option for making the payment instead of Demand draft

Step 1

Log In to Citibank Online → Banking → Transfer funds → Make Demand Drafts → Click on Register New Beneficiary

Step 2

Select 'Me'→ Enter Third Party Address(Address you want the draft to be delivered at) → Click Submit

Step 3

Verify details → Select check box 'I have understood' to receive OTP → Click Confirm.

Note: Do Re-verify the third party address where draft is to be delivered.

Step 4

Click Authorize Beneficiary Now on receiving One Time Password

Step 5

Enter 6 digit OTP → Click Authorize Beneficiary Now

Congratulations You have successfully authorized your Payee

If the beneficiary is already registered , select from the list of registered beneficiaries

Step 1

Under Make Demand Draft -> Select Draw DD against the name of beneficiary you wish

Step 2

Enter Details → Click Continue

Step 3

Select the Account(s) you wish to debit the amount from list of accounts mentioned under 'My accounts' → Click Continue

Step 4

Re-verify beneficiary details & Address where the draft will be issued & Click Continue

Congratulations you have successfully issued a demand draft.

To draw Demand Drafts payable to yourself and delivered to your registered address.

Step 1

Under Make Demand Draft → Select DD Payable to me

Step 2

Enter Currency & Amount → Click Continue

Step 3

Select the Account(s) you wish to debit the amount from list of accounts mentioned under 'My accounts' → Click Continue

Step 4

Enter amount to be debited from account → Click Continue

Step 5

Read and accept Terms & Conditions → Click Confirm
