Remit funds overseas using Online banking – Easy steps for resident individuals

As a resident Indian individual, you can remit funds overseas under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (up to USD 250,000 per financial year) in few simple steps as mentioned below*:

*You can remit up to USD 25,000 equivalent per transaction online subject to your unutilized LRS limits and daily online banking limits.

Add new Payee

Navigate to Banking->Transfer funds->International Transfer Tab

Click on Add New Payee

Enter New Payee Details and click on Next

Click on checkbox to receive OTP and click on Confirm

Click on Authorize Payee Now in the screen that appears, enter OTP received on your registered mobile number and click on Confirm to complete the add payee process

Click on Make Payment Now

Make Payment

Enter payment details

Select Currency from dropdown.
Please Note: In order to check the Exchange Rate, use the link as shown.
- Foreign Currency transactions are not processed on Foreign Exchange holidays.
Select Source Account and Purpose of Transfer from the options in menu (Gifts/maintenance of close Relative Abroad/ Travel/ Education/Medical) and fill in the details corresponding to the option.
Please note below conditions related to purpose of remittance:
- Gifts
- Travel
- Education: Beneficiary should be University/School/College/Educational institute
- Medical: Beneficiary should be a Hospital/Doctor/Health Centre/Lab
- Maintenance of close relatives: Beneficiary should not be a resident of India and should not hold resident account in India
- Remittance by Expat/Foreign national (Not covered under LRS): Online remittance is allowed only if the source of income is salary. Please visit your nearest branch if you wish to initiate a remittance where the source of income is non-salary
Select Bearer of Charges and click on Continue.

A pre-confirmation screen will open. Tick the checkboxes and click on Confirm
