You may have received communication on upgrading your Citi Mobile App. We are here to answer your questions on why the upgrade is required and how it will make your transactions more secure.
Why am I being asked to upgrade my Citi Mobile App?
Citi always strives to provide the best-in-class security features to its customers. Citi will be upgrading its mobile app in April/1st week of May, 2021 with the latest security features. In order to avail the full benefits of these security features, you will need to update your Citi Mobile app to the latest available version on Google PlayStore/Apple AppStore.
How can I upgrade my Citi Mobile App?
You can update/upgrade your Citi Mobile App by visiting the Google PlayStore/Apple AppStore and downloading the latest version once it is available in stores post April/1st week of May, 2021.
Is the app upgrade required immediately? If not, by when can I do it?
Citi will be putting an upgraded version on the stores by end of April/1st week of May. It is recommended that you update your app to the latest versions, once available. If not, starting 14 May 2021, you will not be able to access Citi Mobile App unless you update it to the latest available version.
What if I don’t update my Citi Mobile App?
This is a mandatory step, so we suggest that you update your Citi Mobile App by the end of April 2021/1st week of May. Starting 14 May 2021, if you’ve still not updated your app, you will no longer be able to access it till the time you upgrade your app. After this date:
i. Customers who have already updated their app can continue with seamless access of the Citi Mobile App.
ii. Customers who have not updated their apps will not be able to login. Instead, an appropriate message will be displayed on launching the Citi Mobile App, prompting customers to upgrade their app to continue.
Will I be required to re-register for Touch ID/Face ID after I update my Citi Mobile App?
If you have recently registered for Touch ID/Face ID, i.e. in the year 2021, your registration will remain intact.
However, if you have been using one of the older versions of the Citi Mobile App, i.e. since 2020, you will be asked to login with your User ID/Password and OTP and subsequently shown the pop-up for Touch ID/Face ID/Snapshot registration, as applicable.
