Your Citibank World Money Prepaid Card is reloadable and is valid for a period of three years. Within this period you can use this forex prepaid Card as many times as you like. On your next trip overseas, you can recharge your Card at any of the designated Citibank branch. Simply fill in the reload coupons given to you along with the necessary documents; your Card will be credited with the new amount within hours. Such load/reloads are subject to RBI regulations. How to get my Citibank World Money Card?
If you are a Citibank bank account holder, you can purchase Citibank World Money Prepaid Card (CWM Card) any time before you travel, over-the-counter, from select Citibank branches. You can choose from a range of major foreign currencies- US Dollars, Euro, Pound Sterling, Singapore Dollars & Australian Dollars- depending upon your travel destination. The Card can be taken for a minimum amount of USD/GBP/EUR/AUD/SGD 250. Locate CWM Card branch.
Each individual will be entitled to purchase one Card, which can be loaded/reloaded only up to the foreign currency threshold as defined by RBI under Foreign Exchange Management Act, based on the nature of travel.
The Card account will be issued in the name of the Card member and may be used only by him/her for cash withdrawals/purchases. Only the latest CWM Card purchased by you will be active at any given point of time.

Lost Your Card?
Should you ever misplace your Citibank World Money Prepaid Card, simply call our 24 hours international toll free helplines to report the loss. A replacement Card will be sent to you within 96 hours. If you are travelling, you can request for the replacement Card to be sent to your current location. Can the Citibank World Money Prepaid Cards be used for online transactions/non swipe transactions?
Apart from carrying out purchases at merchant outlets and withdrawing cash, you would additionally be able to use this travel card for online purchases and for other non-swipe purchases.
Examples of non-swipe purchases also include booking hotels / cars on the phone - you would typically be required to share your card number and card expiry.
Have all cards been enabled to carry out Internet and other non-swipe transactions?
All cards irrespective of the date of issuance would be able to carry out Internet purchases and other non-swipe purchases. You are not required to sign-up separately for this.
What are the security aspects of transacting on the net?
Citibank World Money Prepaid Card are enabled on Verified by VISA (VBV). This ensures that you are directed to a Citibank page which enables you to enter either your Internet Password (IPIN) or your One-time Password (OTP), just like any other Credit Card transaction, as shown below.

Your transaction would be processed once the IPIN or OTP is entered.
In India, it is mandatory for all transactions to be verified as above. However, internationally, this may not be the case. Typically international online merchants may ask you for your card number, expiry and CVV2 (present at the back of your card) to process the transaction.
What is Internet Password (IPIN)?
Internet password is shared with you in the welcome pack at the time of card issuance. The internet password can be used to log on to Citibank Online for keeping track of balance / other details of your card and for transacting on the net using your card.
Can One-Time Password (OTP) be generated from an international number?
OTP (One-time password) can be generated only on mobile by sending OTP <space> last four digits of the Card to 52484 or +919880752484 for transacting online. If your mobile operator is not enabled on 52484, then you can make the request via long code +919880752484, irrespective of your mobile number being domestic or international. In the US and Canada, the short code 52484 is enabled on the below mentioned operators.

Please do keep in mind that incase you change your mobile number, you would need to update the same on Citibank Online to get alerts, OTP or Online Authorisation Code (OAC). For the sake of securing your card from misuse, we would not be sending OTP or OAC to your new number for 10 days post updation. You will, however, continue to get alerts on the new number from the day you update the number.
How would Citibank keep the customer updated on the transactions on his card?
Citibank would be sending mobile (including international mobile numbers) and E-mail alerts for all transactions on the number / E-mail ID registered with us.
Can Citibank World Money Prepaid Card be used for Pre Authorisation transactions for both Hotel Stay and Car rental?
Yes, pre authorisation transactions block funds on your card till such time the bill is settled.
What is the process for getting the Pre Authorisation amount released / reversed if the payment has been made through some other mode?
Please contact CitiPhone or login to www.citibank.co.in using your IPIN to request for release/reversal of amount. You will be required to share the Authorisation cancellation letter on the hotel's or the hotel's settlement bank's letterhead via E-mail to us. The hotel should also confirm that the bill was paid via some other mode and that the authorisation does not need to be held any further. You are requested to also attach a copy of the bill stating the check-in & check-out date and the mode of payment. You can also fax the letter to 91-44-28502833.
Are there any precautions to be taken for using the card for online purchases or pre authorisation transactions?
The three-digit CVV2 present at the back of the card should not be shared. You must call CitiPhone if there are any unauthorised transactions on your card. However at no point in time should the CVV2 number be voiced out.
Can the Card be used for transacting in India?
Citibank World Money Card cannot be used at merchant establishments located in India.
What is a chip prepaid card? What are the benefits?
A chip prepaid card is a card with a microchip embedded in it. When used at stores or restaurants with chip-enabled terminals and at ATMs, the system validates the chip, helping to ensure a more secure transaction. The addition of a Personal Identification Number (PIN) provides an extra layer of security above and beyond the chip as the PIN is known only to you.
How will making a purchase with my Citibank World Money chip prepaid card work?
You would have to follow the following three simple steps to make a transaction:
Rather than swiping your card, insert it into the terminal and leave it there for the entire transaction.
Removing the card will terminate the transaction.
Follow the prompts on the screen and enter your PIN in case the machine prompts for the same.
The PIN to be used for transacting at merchant outlets is the same as your ATM PIN.
Are there any other changes I will notice with my Citibank World Money chip prepaid card?
At restaurants, Petrol pumps or any locations where the upgraded chip-enabled terminals are placed away from where you are sitting/ waiting, you will need to do one of the following to complete:
A portable device may be brought to the table for you to insert the card and enter your PIN, or
you could be asked to walk over to a free-standing terminal in a central location to insert the card and enter your PIN.
How do Citibank World Money chip prepaid cards work for transactions made online or over the telephone?
Transactions made online or over the telephone with your Citibank World Money chip card would continue to be conducted the same way as with your current card. This may include using the three-digit verification code on the back of the card or by using a Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode password. You should never disclose your PIN to anyone, even if it's requested to complete a transaction.
Where do I get a PIN for my Citibank World Money chip prepaid card?
The PIN used for these transactions will be your existing World Money Card ATM PIN The ATM PIN is a part of your World Money Welcome Pack. Every time your card is reissued, the ATM PIN will also be reissued and sent to you separately. If you experience difficulties using your card, if you do not know your PIN or if you are unsure of your PIN, please call our 24 hour helpline Citiphone and request for issuance of a new PIN or login to your Citibank Online account and place a request for APIN.
How can I change my PIN or have it reset because I've forgotten it?
If you've forgotten your PIN, please call our 24 hour helpline CitiPhone and request for a fresh PIN or login to your Citibank Online account and place a request for your PIN. We will send the same to your registered address/ temporary international address.
I wasn’t aware that a PIN is required. Why is a PIN required? What exactly is my PIN?
The PIN that comes with a chip based card adds a second level of authentication to transactions thus making the chip card more secure than cards with magnetic stripe the security chip makes it difficult to fraudulently copy the card details thus making the card less susceptible to misuse. It is an RBI recommendation to start issuing Chip + PIN card for all customers.
In case the details of PIN have been misplaced it can be re-issued by calling CitiPhone or login to your Citibank Online account and place a request for your PIN.
I feel inconvenient entering my PIN on an uncovered POS machine.
The Chip + PIN functionality makes the transaction more secure due to an extra authentication factor. If you are uncomfortable with entering the PIN on an uncovered EDC, we would advise you to hide the Pin pad of the POS (point of sale) machine with your hand or an opaque object and then enter the PIN.
I had a World Money card on which I got my ATM PIN re-issued. Now my card is being reissued as an EMV card, what would be my PIN?
When your card is reissued as an EMV card, your ATM PIN will also be reissued and sent to you separately
