Citibank Market Linked Account are like time deposits with two exceptional differences:

How does this Account work?

Based on the view you have on currencies, stocks or indices, we structure an account which links the interest rate returns to this view, keeping in mind

Your investment period
Your view on the underlying measure e.g. NASDAQ, EUR-USD Spot
Your return under various scenarios

Consider two examples:

	View on Currency: You expect the USD-JPY rate to appreciate over the next 3 months.
	Tenure	6 months
	Current Exchange Rate	107.0
	Expected Exchange Rate at Maturity	110.0
	Interest Rate	5%*
	* You receive this interest rate in case, the exchange rate at maturity is equal to or greater than 110.0

	View on Index: You expect NASDAQ to appreciate over next 3 years.
	Tenure	3 years
	Current Level	2100
	Interest Rate	Linked to the appreciation of the index over this tenure.
	Scenario 1: Your view is correct and Index appreciates.
	Index Level	2500
	Appreciation over 3 years	(2500-2100)/2100 = 19%
	Annualized Interest	19%/ 3 = 6.35% p.a.
	Scenario 2: Your view is incorrect and index depreciates.
	Index Level	1800
	Appreciation over 3 years	(1800-2100)/2100 = -14.3%
	Annualized Interest	0%*

Market Linked Account is a structured deposit. Market Linked Account is an investment product that should be held to maturity. Early withdrawals of a part of a Market Linked Account is not permitted. Early withdrawal of the whole of a Market Linked Account is strongly discouraged and may be allowed only with the consent of the bank. Early withdrawal charges may be imposed if the Market Linked Account is terminated before maturity, and such charges will be deducted from the principal amount repaid under the Market Linked Account, hence resulting in a loss of your principal amount.
