On opening your account, you will receive a Payable-at-Par checkbook, which will be treated as a local check at all locations in India where we have Citibank branches. With this facility, you will be able to withdraw cash up to Rs. 1 lakh from any Citibank branch with no extra charges.

You can send money to anyone in India through our online Demand Draft issuance facility. Log on to your account at www.citinri.com and order drafts, which will be issued and couriered to the doorstep of the payee, free of cost, at over 700 locations in India. You can also send a personalized message with your draft.

* Once you open the Rupee Checking Account, you can issue a Demand Draft/Pay Order by using our Internet Banking facility. All demand drafts ordered are absolutely free of cost. The drafts will be issued in India and couriered directly to the beneficiary within 2 banking days. Your beneficiary would receive the same within 5 banking days from the date of receipt of your instructions. This service is currently available over 700 locations across India and there are over 324 locations in India where Citibank has courier tie-ups with. If the location of your beneficiary is not one of the courier tie-up locations, the demand draft would be sent by registered post.

Please Note: RBI has withdrawn the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) facility with effect from 31st January 2008. You will not be able to transfer funds to some branches, which were previously supported through this payment option starting 29th January 2008.

In future, if you encounter a failure message during the fund transfer process for any of your existing payees, please go through the registration process once again to check if your payee bank branch is supported by the National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) process.

If you opt for the Mandatee Facility, your Mandatee in India will be given an additional ATM/Debit Card and checkbook, through which they can access your account in India. All you need to do is authorize a family member to be a Mandatee after your account is opened.

Your Mandatee can use the ATM/Debit Card to withdraw cash (up to the limit specified by you) from your account at over 7,500 Cirrus ATM centers across 200 plus locations in India.

The checkbook helps your Mandatee to take care of financial commitments in India, household expenses, festival money and any unforeseen expenses. Please note that incase you wish to place a monthly withdrawal limit, your Mandatee will not receive a checkbook.
